Shine Your best: Preparing for your upcoming headshot session

A professional headshot is more than just a picture; it's your visual handshake with the world. Whether it's for your LinkedIn profile, company website, or personal branding, a great headshot speaks volumes about your professionalism and personality. To ensure you look and feel your absolute best during your session with DIG Entertainment, here are some essential tips to help you prepare.

1. Plan Your Wardrobe Thoughtfully

Your clothing is a crucial element in your headshot. Aim for outfits that are clean, wrinkle-free, and well-fitting. Solid colors generally work best as they keep the focus on your face and don't distract. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, or anything overly trendy that might quickly date your image.

Consider the impression you want to make. For a corporate look, a tailored jacket or a crisp collared shirt can be ideal. For a more creative or casual feel, a well-chosen sweater or a smart, solid-colored top can work wonderfully. We recommend bringing a few options to your session so we can select the best fit together.

2. Prioritize Grooming and Personal Care

Your face will be the star of the show, so a little pre-session care goes a long way.

  • Hair: Style your hair as you typically would for an important meeting or presentation. If you're planning a new haircut, aim to have it done about a week before your session to allow it to settle.

  • Skin: Hydrate well in the days leading up to your shoot. If you have dry skin, moisturize. For oily skin, consider using blotting papers on the day of your session to reduce shine.

  • Makeup (if applicable): Opt for a natural look that enhances your features without being overly dramatic. Matte finishes tend to photograph best.

  • Facial Hair: If you have facial hair, ensure it's neatly trimmed. If you prefer a clean shave, do so a few hours before your session to avoid razor burn.

  • Glasses: If you wear glasses regularly, bring them! We can work to minimize glare. If you're unsure whether to wear them, bring them as an option.

3. Rest and Hydrate

The night before your session, aim for a good night's sleep. Being well-rested will help you look fresh and alert. Additionally, drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot; proper hydration contributes to healthy-looking skin.

4. Relax and Be Yourself

It's natural to feel a little nervous before a photo session, but remember, our goal at DIG Entertainment is to make you feel comfortable and confident. The more relaxed you are, the more genuine your expressions will be. Don't hesitate to communicate any preferences or concerns with your photographer beforehand. They are there to guide you through the process and capture your best self.

By taking these simple steps, you'll be well-prepared for a successful headshot session that truly reflects your professional image. We look forward to working with you!
